I’ve been doing my best to to put together a list of guest-friendly hotels in Thailand and other countries of Southeast Asia based on my personal experience traveling in the region over the last decade. Since I started this website, I take a little time on my various trips to share pictures and review of each individual establishment I visited.
Of course, in order to give a decent enough variety I have also relied on first hand account by friends and various reviews on specialized websites or message boards. For those hotels & resorts that I haven’t had the chance yet to visit, I personally made sure of their policy by either showing up at the reception, emailing or calling them directly and have included their answers in the hotel description. Please bear in mind that things change overtime and a guest-friendly Hotel can quickly turn into a non guest-friendly due to change of management so it could occur that some of these hotels may no longer be guest-friendly. To avoid this, inquires about their guest-friendly status will be sent every year with the hotel mailing list I have created to keep tabs on possible changes.
Now for those wondering what exactly is a guest-friendly hotel is, the easiest way to put it is that many hotels will charge you an extra fee of 500 Bath or more to bring guests back to your room. That is if they allow guests up to your room at all! Guest-friendly means that the hotel doesn’t charge you this “joiner fee”.
