Buri Gallery House Hotel

Cons:

• The cheapest rooms are a little quirky
• Right next to the Sunday night market street so it  can get noisy, otherwise quiet

• Charming resort in Lanna style
• Nice landscaped gardens surrounded by rice paddy

Cons:

• Soundproofing of the rooms

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Chompor Lanna Boutique Resort: "Firstly, we need to inform that you can stay for two person in a room. If you want to stay fro three person, you need to pay more as 1,100 baht for one night. You can bring back an unregistered guest no problem but you need to inform the staff first and the unregistered guest must show her ID card to the staff."

Pros:

• Quiet street in a Quiet neighborhood
• Located on the western side of Old City near the centre
• Idyllic surrounding with garden and pool

Cons:

• Beds was a little hard, but not as bad as the usual Thai standards

• Guest Friendly policy reply by De Lanna Hotel: "We would like to inform you that we have a guest friendly policy that allows to bring back an unregistered guest (bar girl at night) with no joiner fee, and she needs to have proper ID card to give at reception, but in the next morning if she would like to have breakfast at the restaurant she should to pay 250 baht for breakfast."

• 2 minutes walk to all the beer bars of Chiang Mai Entertainment Complex with plenty more along Loykroh Road
• The outdoor pool is large and great way to cool off & relax after a long day

Cons:

• Rooms are a bit dated

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Duangtawan Hotel: "Greeting from Duangtawan Hotel, Chiang Mai Thank you for your interest our service, please be informed that there is not the joiner fee For double/twin accommodation booking but unregistered guest will be collected Their ID card as per the Security Policy"

Fuengfa Place

• Cheap rooms around the 20$ mark
• Located in the old town, 10 mins walk from the center
• Simple, basic and clean

Cons:

• Not overly charming place
• No safe in the room, no pool, no elevator

• Located in the old town just by the Thapae Gate
• Bathroom had been renovated since my last visit
• Rooms at 25/26 sq.m. not the biggest in size but clean and comfy

Cons:

• No pool or gym
• Rooms facing the East gate can be affected by outside noise

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Hotel M Chiang Mai: "The hotel no charge if you have lady joiner come to stay with you."

Kampaeng Ngam Hotel

This hotel is very conveniently located near bars, market, etc. but still far enough away so you're not bothered at night by noise. The rooms are okay, small but clean with air-conditioning. Has a Nice swimming pool with sunbeds.

• Pool is large enough with plenty of sun loungers around

• Rooms are small and dated
• Only one power point that you can use in the room
• Soundproofing of rooms

• Rooms are spacious, starting at 32 sq.m.
• Staff are a friendly bunch and quite fluent in English

Cons:

• Poor room isolation

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Le Naview @ Prasingh: "Normally in 1 room can stay 2 peoples if in your room stay more 2 peoples, we have to charge for extra person but if you come alone can have one joiner. However another person will be your responsibility."

Makka Hotel

• The architectural work and decor at this boutique hotel is quite impressive
• the vibe is very peaceful

Cons:

• No Pool
• The entry levels rooms are small for the price

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Makka Hotel: "Thank you for your interesting our property and regarding to your question, you can invite friend to stay over the night but we need your friend to identify and present ID card at front desk, of course we will copy and ID card for security policy and 1 person allow to share the room."

Raming Lodge Hotel

Raming Lodge is located in the center of Chiang Mai naughty nightlife, surrounded by restaurants and bars with easy access to the Redlight district. Excellent service, friendly staff, nice room, tour desk near the reception, good restaurant and breakfast. Complimentary minibar, coffee, fruit selection, WiFi. Very good value for money.

Pros:

• Located 5 minutes walk from the CM Entertainment Complex with quite a lot of girlie bars and strip clubs in the area
• The rooms which start at 32 sq.m are big and spacious
• Bed was very comfortable
• Nice rustic traditional design
• I enjoyed the hotel interior and decor

Cons:

• Swimming pool area is not located at the property itself but just across the street 50m away.
• No balcony
• As this is around the red light district area there can be a little noise if your room face the street

• Guest Friendly policy reply by the Raming Lodge Hotel: "Your room can accommodate 2 persons. Third person will be charged at THB 600 net per person per night. However, unregistered guest needs to show her ID at the reception for a security reason."

• Good location on a quiet side street sheltered from any noise
• Nice lobby area
• All the room amenities worked perfectly

Cons:

• Hotel is a little outdated
• No pool
• No electronic safe in cheaper rooms but available at counter

• 5 minutes walk to the girlie bars along the Loi Kroh strip and fom there, 10 more mins walk to the Chiang Mai entertainment complex
• New boutique hotel that opened 3 years ago with an industrial theme
• Rooms are well equipped and decorated in an unique industrial style.
• Won the 2016 TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence
• Relaxing pool area equipped with Jacuzzi

Cons:

• Rooms are a little small
